SECTOR A

Have your design created by Magra Multi Média.

Our Creative Team

1. You become an integral part of our creative design team!
Think about it - you are the "Art Director" of our team, and your ideas are used to create the most personalized and fantastic cover ever! First, you need to know the type of layout that will be necessary to create this cover. We have numerous cover design models available, containing two, four, six, to multi-page layouts. You choose.

To establish your CD cover requirements, please consider the following:

- Your budget and printing costs.
- Your text requirements, such as the title, songs, acknowledgements, etc.
- Photos, images and drawings for the visual presentation.

2. As the "Art Director", you must proof-read the text before the final layout is completed. You can save time and money. The text will be in MS Word. This will better facilitate the work of the graphic designer, and it will avoid any written errors. Please take into account the amount of text used on your cover. If there is too much text, the font size will have to be reduced, thus making it difficult to read. Also, ensure the message you are trying to relay is the essential one.

3. If you have many photos, choose ones with the best colour quality and balanced contrast. It may be tempting to put many photos on your cover, but a few well placed photos may provide that message you are seeking to capture the attention of your audience.

4. Your task is to create a CD cover design that will harmonize your ideas with a very powerful message you want to convey. If you require ideas for comparison, look at some existing CD layouts. Analyse these and use the desired elements to your advantage.
Understand:
Who is your target audience?
Can you easily reach this audience with your design,
and will they be enticed to purchase your product?
What is your design best suited for: Rock, Rap, Classic, Country, etc.?

5. Make a paper mock-up of your CD cover.
This will help you visualize your initial design layout.

6. Now, you are ready to submit your material (mock-up, photos, text, etc.) to the graphic design department of Magra Multi Média. We, along with you as our "Art Director" (The Team), can begin designing and creating your personalized CD cover!

SECTOR B

Submit your own design to Magra Multi Média.

Here are a few suggestions when creating your own graphic design:

1. First, contact our sales department at Magra Multi Média.
A qualified person will assist you with:
The requirements for designing your own CD cover.
Your custom requirements, such as the type of template to use for your CD layout.

2. Then download these templates to your computer, directly from our web-site.
Our templates are easy-to-use, and have been created in sections such as:
the front cover, the back cover, the back tray card, the disk, etc.

3. To reduce the file size (also for file protection), all of our documents have been
compressed, using either "Stuffit for Mac" or "Zip for PC’s."

4. To provide you with ease-of-use and flexibility,
we have created our templates using different formats:
Our EPS files can be opened using Illustrator 8 or Photoshop for Mac and PC’s.
QuarkXpress 4 version is available for the specialist using a Macintosh. This version can also be used with a PC, but the PC fonts are not always compatible with Mac fonts. This could cause some problems. Although these fonts can be transformed to Mac fonts by using special software, this process is not always successful.

Are you ready to start? Great! We only ask you to comply to the following basic rules:

5.
A) Do not modify the template(s) in any way.
B) Colour mode is always in CMYK and never in RGB.
C) Photos & images must be 300 DPI (dots per inch) resolution.
D) Images must exceed the cutting line found on the template. This printing
cc concept is called "Bleed". However, an exception is on the CD template, where
cc bleeding cannot occur.
E) Avoid putting text too close to the page borders.
F) Always save documents as EPS or TIF files, without compression.
G) Printing on the disk uses Pantone Coated Colours (PMS), however CMYK
cc can also be used. Take into account that white is considered as a colour (Ink).
H) Consider the silver coating area of a CD, this may limit the design.
I) To avoid font problems, the Illustrator user must convert all text into outlines.
J) The QuarkXpress user must provide all images and fonts used
K) Booklets must be designed in "Printer Spread", instead of in "Reader Spread"
cc For example: A 12-page booklet should not be designed as pages 02-03, 04-05,
cc but as pages 02-11, 10-03, etc.
